Internet Safeguard Organization Appears In Beijing

With approval from the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, a special organization called the Beijing Safeguard Service Corporation Internet Safeguard Service Department has been launched to keep an eye on Internet cafes in the nation's capital.
The Internet Safeguard Organization is a joint effort of the Beijing Municipal Safeguard Service Corporation and the Beijing Municipal Network Industry Association.
According to press reports, the new organization's goal in Beijing is to "help purify the network environment and maintain network safety" in the city. In the coming days, the group will send its "network safeguard" deputies to Internet cafes and locations with Internet access to monitor network service. The deputies will help those places remove any harmful Internet information and assist them to maintain smooth network operations.
