With Amoi's launch this week of five new laptop computers based on Intel's chipset, Amoi has officially ended its cooperation with AMD.
According to Amoi's CEO, Li Xiaozhong, the company has to choose a mainstream platform like Intel's in order to satisfy demand for certain software.
Li also told local media that after successfully shifting Amoi's business to mobile phones, plasma televisions and laptop computers, Amoi will probably soon enter the PDA market.
Amoi signed a cooperative memorandum with Intel in July 2004. The two companies agreed to work in many fields including mobile computing, wireless telecommunications and digital family theater.
