Nikon Opens Shanghai Imaging Business Subsidiary

Capitalized at US$10 million, Nikon has established Nikon Imaging (China) Sales Company in Shanghai.
The wholly-owned Nikon subsidiary is expected to strengthen sales and service to expand Nikon's imaging business in the rapidly growing Chinese market.
The new company will directly import and wholesale imaging products including digital cameras and strengthen brand presence through effective marketing and advertising activities.
The subsidiary began operations this month with an initial staff of 50, aiming to increase the workforce to 120 employees in one year. The company also aims for first-year sales of US$92 mil and third-year sales of US$303 mil.
