Beijing's notoriously unstable ADSL collapsed yesterday, leaving many offices across the nation's capital struggling to complete work. The failure lasted from 14:30-17:30.
Beijing Netcom declared, in a statement posted on Sina.com, that the problem was caused by a faulty router. But the Beijing Network Monitoring Department claims that the ADSL breakdown may have something to do with poor DNS service.
More than 200,000 users are estimated to have been affected, but it is unknown how much monetary loss has been caused.
