China Unicom Initiates 3G Trial In Tianjin

China Unicom in Tianjin has completed the construction of CDMA1X and is issuing special numbers for the network.
For China Unicom, this CDMA1X Enhanced Network is basically equivalent to a 3G network. CDMA1X Enhanced Network is the first 3G test network of China Unicom. Upon completion, it will handle 10000 users and the network speed can reach 2M per second.
The new network is being adopted in the Binhai New District of Tianjin. At the same time, China Unicom (Tianjin) has begun selling the Samsung E159, a mobile phone built specifically for the new network.
China Unicom is also testing 3G networks in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
