Local media reports over the next five years China's government agencies plan to invest 15 billion yuan to develop 100 kinds of online games.
In addition, those games would be given independent property rights.
Yu Yongzhan, deputy director of the Press and Publication Administration of China (PPAC), was quoted as saying that the PPAC will make joint efforts with other government departments to hasten development of game software centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and parts of Sichuan province.
10 to 30 domestic online game companies are expected to be launched within the next three years under this plan.
