Smarter.com will be launching a Chinese version of its P4P shopping search engine at the end of 2005. To support this international expansion, Smarter.com has moved more than 70 employees to a new 12,000 square foot office in Shanghai, China and hired two senior executives to help manage the company's expansion in China.
Jessica Chen has been appointed as VP, Product Management and Engineering Operations. Based in Shanghai, Jessica will provide leadership in Product Management, Engineering Operations, and maintenance of all existing Smarter.com products.
Eric Zhang joins Smarter as VP, Engineering. Also based in Shanghai, Eric will spearhead the development of new products and services for the company.
"While online shopping in China is still nascent, 15% of Chinese users use the Internet for shopping information, and we believe that Chinese consumers will rapidly adopt shopping search," said Harry Tsao, Co-Founder of Smarter.com.
