China Unicom Launches First Network Deployment Outside Mainland China

UTStarcom (UTSI) has won a contract from China Unicom to help deploy first phase of China Unicom's CDMA core network construction in Macao.
UTStarcom's Total Control PDSN is a carrier-class, feature-rich, multiservice access platform designed to provide operators with a powerful access solution that supports enhanced data systems such as CDMA 1xRTT/EV-DO Packet Data Serving Node (PDSN) and Home Agent (HA).
"Our Total Control PDSN is designed to offer a feature-rich, field-proven PDSN solution that provides operators with a cost-effective means of delivering profitable data services to mobile subscribers while also offering a smooth migration path to EVDO capability," said Simon Le, senior vice president of sales at UTStarcom China.
