The VSI Alliance (VSIA), the electronic industry's IP and SoC standards body, and the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA) have signed an agreement allowing CSIA to base its Semiconductor IP standards on the VSIA standards.

The agreement allows the CSIA to create Chinese-language standards based on VSIA's standards and to distribute them throughout China. The VSIA and CSIA will also establish a China VSI Alliance Special Interest Group (CSIG).

The Agreement allows a select group of 35 companies to access the English-language versions of the VSIA standards and specifications.

CSIG is the China VSIA Special Interest Group. The purpose of CSIG is to facilitate the development of China IP-Reuse Standards, based on VSIA's documents and to then promote these standards and VSIA itself within China.
