The Center of Software and Integrated Circuit Promotion of the Ministry of Information Industry this week signed a three-party strategic Linux cooperation agreement with Dawning and Freescale.
The parties agree to better combine domestically made Linux system software, application software, high performance servers and PowerPCs to provide more competitive and cost-efficient solutions for Chinese users.
The Chinese government has attached great importance to having Chinese companies use domestically made hardware and software. In the past, it has been reasoned that domestically produced goods are better for China's security.
