Tsinghua University and Beijing Visionox Technology Company have chosen Kunshan to open China's first large-scale Organic LED (OLED) production line.
Tsinghua University has been engaged in OLED study since 1996 and has more than 50 patents for OLED technologies.
OLED is not made of semiconductors. Instead it is made from carbon-based molecules. That is the key science factor that leads to potentially eliminating LEDs' biggest drawbackof size because the carbon-based molecules are much smaller.
