China Mobile (CHL) is testing event ticket booking via mobile phones in Shanghai through its affiliate Shanghai Mobile.
A product support manager from Shanghai Mobile's Marketing Department has told local media that Shanghai Mobile has signed an agreement with Shanghai Yonghua Cinema to implement the wireless ticketing tests.
Under the service, those Shanghai Mobile users who have a bank account can login with their mobile phones to the Shanghai Mobile Monternet area that enables them to enter the cinema's online area and buy a ticket.
Shanghai Mobile will also promote the service to theaters and exhibition halls in the city in the future.
