Third Online Game And Animation Industry Zone Heads To Shanghai

China has launched an online game and animation development zone within Shanghai's Zhangjiang High-tech Zone.
This is the third licensed base for these technology sectors that the country has initiated following the ones in Chengdu and Guangdong. These special zones can offer attractive tax and company setup benefits to game and animation studios.
Shanghai's online game and animation industry has been developing rapidly in recent years. At present, the revenue from Shanghai's online game and animation industry has accounted for 70% of the country's total in these respective sectors.
Zhangjiang High-tech Zone, which is home to more than 300 high-tech enterprises, including Shanda, the9 and Core; over 50 research institutions; and 10 colleges and universities, provides an ideal atmosphere for the industry's development.
