Alibaba has never stopped promoted its deal with Yahoo since it announced the shift of Yahoo China's portal to a pure search engine. Now, it plans to spend CNY100 million on advertising the Yahoo site during the upcoming Spring Festival period of CCTV.
Alibaba won two time slots on CCTV's Spring Festival gala broadcast during bidding held last week. This is the first time that Alibaba participated in such a bidding.
Alibaba's vice president Jin Jianhang has told the local media that Alibaba will make use of the win to advertise both Alibaba and Yahoo on CCTV.
