China's TD-SCDMA implementation is approaching a milestone with six telecom operators in the country jointly participating in the construction of a trial network.
Local media report that that China's six major telecom operators–China Telecom, China Netcom, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Tietong and China Satcom–will cooperate to build TD-SCDMA base stations in Beijing and Shanghai in December this year.
Those tests will need to begin soon after the third-phase tests on TD-SCDMA are completed by manufacturers in order to validate the separate functions and performance of the TD-SCDMA network.
Of the six operators, local media speculate that China Telecom and China Tietong are thought to be ones who are most likely get a TD-SCDMA operating certification.
