Changhong and China Telecom (CHA) have together launched an IPTV-enabled television set sales campaign in 17 cities across China.
Every customer that purchases a new Changhong IPTV set will automatically become a China Telecom IPTV user.
The two parties have decided to first launch a series of promotions in the cities in five key regions in China including Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shaanxi. This is aimed at letting users experience the advantages of the new IPTV service.
Changhong and China Telecom signed a strategic agreement in January this year. Under the agreement, the two sides will have a full range of cooperation and will set up 1000 marketing sites across China to help promote the IPTV service.
The companies have not disclosed details on how they will split the income from the IPTV television sales.
