Shanghai-based eBay Eachnet (EBAY) has been sued by a Danish company for providing a platform for the sale of unlicensed trademarked goods.
The court says the case might not be heard until 2006.
Denmark's Bestseller Wholesale says that eBay Eachnet had allowed large transactions of trademarked clothing, including brands Only, Vermoda and Jack & Jones, on its website without authorization.
Bestseller Wholesale is asking for CNY200,000 compensation from eBay Eachnet for the trademark infringement.
eBay Eachnet's lawyer thinks that eBay Eachnet only serves as a transaction platform and should not be responsible for any goods sold on its platform.
