Malaysia's Telekom Research and Development Sdn Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei to promote cooperation between both parties in research and development and collaboration activities.
Telekom Research and Development Sdn Bhd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Bhd.
The companies will have access to each other's facilities and will jointly develop software and applications used in the telecommunications industry and in the development of products based on new communication standards.
Both parties will actively participate in, among others, cooperative research, research contracts, consultancy, training and industrial attachment.
Huawei was represented by its country manager Zhang Sen and senior vice-president of international marketing Lie Ji.
Zhang said both parties are commited to meet regularly to share information and activities of mutual interest.
