The Shandong Institute of Standardization (SDIS) has signed an agreement with NEC China Research Institute to work together to apply RFID technology on quality control in the province.
According to Qian Heng, an engineer from SDIS, this will be the largest RFID implementation of this type in China.
RFID technology will be used to replace the current manual control systems–a single terminal will later be enough to gain instant information about goods.
The project is expected to be completed within a year.
NEC China Research Institute is one of the four major research institutes of NEC in the world. It focuses on mobile network frameworks and advanced privacy communications.
