The Telecommunication Management Department of the Ministry of Information Industry says it has forced several illegal mobile phone dealers to close. It has also exposed markets in five cities that were found involved in illegal mobile phone sales.
The markets are Muxiyuan and Gongzhufen in Beijing; Wenyuan Communications Market in Guangzhou; Huaqiang Bei Yuan Wang Communications Market in Shenzhen; Taisheng South Road Communications Street in Chengdu; and Taihe Electronic City in Shijiangzhuang.
An official from the Ministry of Information Industry says that more than 40 illegal dealers have been closed. However, not a great number of illegal phones have been confiscated.
