In order to protect consumers from phishing criminals and to make sure that consumers use their bank cards in a safe manner during the upcoming Spring Festival, China UnionPay has issued a series of special reminders.
China UnionPay suggests that consumers call their respective card issuing banks or the service hotline of China UnionPay when they have any inquiries or doubts about using their bank card.
UnionPay is also telling consumers to immediately report lost or stolen cards and to not use such personal information as birth date, ID number or telephone number as a password for the bank card.
China UnionPay also asks consumers not to use their bank card for online shopping or in public areas like Internet cafes.
