China's Mobile Phone Exports Rose by 56% In 2005

The latest statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce show that the volume of China's mobile phone exports reached 228 million last year.
This figure is an increase of 56% over the previous year, and the total mobile phone export value hit US$20.635 billion, rising by 45.7% compared with that in 2004.
The Ministry of Commerce points out that China's mobile phone trade achieved a favorable balance of US$19.442 billion in 2005, which is $6.757 billion more than the previous year. The data demonstrates China's position as a mobile phone manufacture base in the world.
Local media estimate that China's export volume of electronics and information products exceeded US$250 billion in 2005, accounting for one third of the country's total export volume.
