China Telecom (CHA) is upgrading the speed of its existing ADSL network in 26 provinces across the country.
It is expected that the speed will triple after the transformation and will be able to host high-speed online surfing, video conferencing, IPTV and other multimedia services.
Internet users in China hold high expectations for China Telecom's speed acceleration. According to an online survey conducted by Sina.com, 72.93% of netizens in China say they will choose the updated ADSL network.
China Telecom is preparing for IPTV, a service that China Telecom has long compared to a "gold mine".
