Shanghai Telecom Will Issue IPTV Numbers Ahead Of Schedule

Shanghai Telecom and its partner Shanghai Media Group have been impressed by the rapid increase of IPTV service applicants, and they are now pressing to issue the IPTV numbers ahead of schedule.
Local media report that Shanghai Telecom had raised its first quarter goal from 5500 users to 10,000. And it was attracting users with competitive ADSL + IPTV package offers.
An earlier plan set that IPTV network be completed in Shanghai by the middle of 2006 and thousands of users developed by the end of this year.
So far, apart from Shanghai's Shenmin District and Pudong District where IPTV was initiated, Zhabei District has also been added into the list.
