Guangdong's Phone User Base Exceeds 100 Million

Guangdong is the first Chinese province whose phone user base has broken 100 million.
The latest statistics concerning Guangdong's communications industry shows that as of February 19, the total phone users in the province had hit 100,049,762, with fixed phone users reaching 34,797,314 and mobile phone users 65,252,448.
Jiang Yaopin, deputy minister of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) has congratulated Guangdong Province's achievement, saying that it increased the phone user base from 10 million to over 100 million in less than ten years.
At present, Guangdong's long-distance exchanger capacity has exceeded 2 million, hosting one-eighth of China's telecom users and bringing about one sixth of the nation's total telecom income.
