Following Toshiba and Panasonic, another Japanese company Mitsubishi has now given up its mobile phone business in the Chinese market.
Last Friday, Mitsubishi held an internal meeting and announced the cancellation of the mobile phone departments in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.
According to local media, Mitsubishi will dismiss the staff at the development, production, sales and after-sales service departments, including those at the Beijing headquarters.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi's Hangzhou factory is said to have been closed.
The after-sales service related to the already-sold Mitsubishi mobile phones will be handed over to each individual dealer to manage.
