Chinese search engine Baidu.com (BIDU) and Nokia (NOK) are collaborating to make mobile search easier and more convenient in Chinese-speaking markets, including mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
As a result of this collaboration between Baidu and Nokia, users of Nokia's Mobile Search Application, leading with the high-end Nokia N70, Nokia N90 and other select S60 Nokia devices, will be able to access Baidu search services via a user friendly search icon on the screen interface.
The Nokia Mobile Search Application with Baidu wireless search services is designed to provide a simple and convenient way for users of these Nokia devices to search for information online and to connect with Baidu online communities via wireless connections.
Four of Baidu's most popular services, including Web Search, News Search, Image Search and Baidu Post Bar, a popular query based community invented by Baidu, are provided in this Application.
A free download of this pilot application will be available from today for select devices in mainland China from Nokia's website.
The two companies did not reveal any payment or financial terms of the deal.
