Tencent's Profit Rises 10% In 2005

China's instant communication service provider Tencent showed in its results of 2005 that Tencent's total income in the year increased by 24.7% and reached CNY1.4264 billion.
The company's profit rose by 10%, and amounted to CNY485.4 million.
In particular, the company's online ads income doubled from that of the previous year, and Internet value-added services went up 79.2% compared with 2004. However, its mobile and telecom value-added service declined by 19.3%.
In order to yield more value for their shareholders, Tencent has decided to purchase back as much as US$30 million stock from shareholders.
