Author Du Changwei has filed a lawsuit against the online Founder Digital Library, an affiliate of Founder Group, which Du says has violated his copyright.
Du is asking Founder to to pay him more than 10000 CNY as compensation, and Beijing Haidian District People's Court has accepted Du's case. The amount of compensation is based loosely on the number of Chinese characters in the book.
According to Du's lawyer, the Founder Digital Library has published Du's book "Law Management and Rights Protection of Hospitals" without permission from Du. Founder also did not provide Du any of the commissions derived from sales of the online book.
The case is being processed by the court and a decision should be reached in the next two months.
