China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has issued a circular on strengthening the management of experimental mass transit digital television in buses and other mass transportation around the country.
SARFT is requiring that all cities that experiment with mobile digital television have no less than 2000 buses and a highly-developed economy.
The circular also requires that the mobile digital television reception devices should only be fixed safely on public transportation like buses and taxis, and the programs must not be broadcast with encryption.
The circular further says that mobile digital television programs should be short, focusing on information and entertainment.
