Beijing police have detained two people surnamed Long and Zhou, who together recently purchased an ASUS computer.
The two purchasers tried to blackmail ASUS into providing them US$5 million after they found a problem with the ASUS computer. Long and Zhou threatened to disclose the problems to the media if they did not receive the money.
After a brief police sting, the two have been arrested and ASUS says that the problem CPU in the computer was provided by the dealer and was not related to its own manufacturing.
