Lenovo has released its mobile phone strategy for 2006. The company plans to launch more than 20 new mobile phones this year and seize 10% of the total domestic market share.
Liu Zhijun, general manager of Lenovo Mobile, has told local media that by end of March 2006, Lenovo Mobile had taken 7.1% of the domestic mobile phone market share and surpassed Bird to become the top Chinese brand mobile phone manufacturer in the domestic market.
Liu said that Lenovo mobile phone's top ranking can be attributed to its rapidly growing mobile phone retailing service.
Liu further said that in order to reach the goal of 10% market share, Lenovo will strengthen its procurement process with the telecom operators.
