Wuhan hopes to diminish the many consumer complaints over plasma and LCD television sets with the enactment of a new consumer-friendly regulation.
The new regulation says that an entire television set should have a one-year repair guarantee period, and the screen, digital signal processing panel and IC panel should have a two-year repair guarantee period.
The seller of the television should also agree to give a full refund to the consumer if a manufacturing problem is discovered within seven days after a purchase. Consumers can choose to change or repair the television within 15 days after the purchase.
During the guarantee period, a consumer can ask for a refund if the television does not work normally after being twice repaired. In this case, the dealers should accept the consumer's request, but they can charge 0.15% per day of the value of the goods as a depreciation fee.
