To better protect the copyrights of digital works, the Beijing Municipal Copyright Bureau has launched a new copyright registration platform for digital works owners.
This is the first such platform in China, and with this platform, digital works owners will be able to place a watermark encrypted copyright registration certificate after they submit relevant information about their works. This will help them prevent the illegal dissemination of their works.
However, the Bureau says that this service is only available to people with a permanent Beijing residency (Beijing Hukou) and legal business units operating in Beijing.
