New Cartoon And Flash Base Will Open In Shenzhen

    Shenzhen Yijing State Cartoon and Flash Zone, founded by Shenzhen Radio, Film and Television Group, will formally open on May 19 as a special economic area with tax benefits for companies involved in cartooning and Flash animation.

    The new base occupies a total construction area of 42500 square meters. So far, 30 cartoon and Flash companies from both China and abroad have entered the base, bringing over CNY1.1 billion in investment.

    Of the 30 companies, 17 are engaged in originally-created cartoons, 1 in computer games, 1 in mobile phone cartoons and games, and 1 in film and television show generation.

    These companies will achieve a total production capacity of 14000 minutes of footage per year.
