Chinese website 263.com has now turned into a classified information website after its recent attempts to build a multimedia empire failed.
263.com has now transferred the VoIP and instant communications service to which it earlier devoted its efforts to 263.net. Instead, it is now providing classified information about Beijing and Shanghai.
Local media report that China's classified ad market in 2005 was worth CNY30 billion, of which Internet classified websites accounted for less than 1%.
