In order to prevent international mobile storage standards from monopolizing its market, China is going to release part of its mobile storage standards by the end of this year.
Chen Qingfang, head of the Mobile Storage Standard Work Team (MSSW), says his group has already initiated the work related to the mobile storage standard. The Only Disc standard has entered the final review stage and is expected to be released in three months. Other common proposals will also be approved within six months.
In the meantime, MSSW is negotiating with Taiwanese companies in the hope that they can join in the standard. However, no company from Taiwan has yet joined. Chen says that this is mainly because Taiwan companies want to maintain their interest in the Taiwan local area.
