Local Chinese media report China Mobile is brewing a new punishment for wireless service providers (SPs) who fail to follow regulations.
Under China Mobile's rumored new measure, if an SP is found to have broken regulations in at least two provinces, the services of other SPs related to that infringing SP will also be suspended.
The rumored new measure will be implemented on July 1, 2006.
Over the last two years, many SPs and wireless value-added service providers like Sohu.com, Linktone, Kongzhong, Sina.com, Tom.com, and Netease.com have faced fines and service suspensions because of failure to follow China Mobile's regulations.
