China Unicom Tests WiMax In Five Chinese Cities

China Unicom's (CHU) Planning and Network Construction Department has told local media that China Unicom has initiated its WiMAX test in five Chinese cities.
A representative from the department says that the purpose of the test is to allow users to enjoy China Unicom's various value-added services by combining WiMAX with CDMA and GSM networks.
China Unicom has chosen WiMAX 802.16e with its strong mobile features so that users can enjoy its digital service wherever they may be.
