A representative from Beijing Capital International Airport disclosed that the first RFID Luggage Tracking System has just been adopted on Cathay Pacific Airways' Beijing-Hong Kong line.
The Capital Airport spent more than CNY4 million at the beginning of this year introducing RFID technology. It plans to build the RFID Luggage Tracking System in two phases and it is estimated that the second phase of construction will be completed in October this year.
At present, the Capital Airport uses serial code scanning in luggage delivery.
Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong-based airliner that operates throughout Asia.
