China's Ministry of Commerce, China Customs, General Administration of Industry and Commerce, National Copyright Administration of China, State Intellectual Property Office of China and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade have together set up a special team to better enhance the protection of intellectual property rights at conferences and exhibitions.
As part of their work in 2006, they have launched the "Blue Sky Exhibition Action" which is intended to publicize the protection of copyrights, trademarks and patents during conferences and exhibitions.
They will also arrange mechanisms to accept complaints related to copyright and intellectual property right violations at conferences and exhibition sites.
Gao Hu, vice minister from the Ministry of Commerce, said at a recent press conference that the complaints concerning intellectual property have increased each year.
Conferences are a gathering place for different competing businesses to come together, and they are also a place where rights violations can best be identified.
