Datang Telecom Technology Industry Group has announced to appointment of Zhen Caiji, former vice chief engineer of China Mobile, as the CEO and president of the group.
Zhen will also serve as president of the Telecom Science and Technology Research Institute.
As an official with China Mobile, Datang says Zhen has long been engaged in the designing, planning and engineering management of telecom networks.
China's State Asset Commission reports it holds high expectations for Zhen to develop China's national 3G sector after he takes over his new duties. Zhou Huan, previous CEO and President of Datang for eight years, will shift to an unnamed oversight role within the company.
