Based on the success of pilot programs, Tianjin Municipal Radio, Film and Television Department (TRFTS) will formally initiate its digital television signal conversion on July 1.
By examining the experiences of other trial regions in the country, TRFTS has worked out a detailed strategy for the conversion. It plans to first send set-top boxes for free to users, then conduct the overall signal shift before shutting down the analog signals.
TRFTS will do this step by step and region by region. Longxingli residential area on Xuefujie, Nankai District will be the first trial region for the conversion.
