Chinese search engine Baidu.com (BIDU) has launched a beta blog service "Baidu Space" and plans to open it online on July 13.
Baidu says it has positioned its blog service as "Search plus Blog", which Liang Dong, vice president of Baidu, believes is better than other blog services because it links the bloggers who share common interests more accurately through a keyword search.
Though there is not yet a fixed way for creating revenue from blog services in China, search engines and Internet portals have in succession launched their own blog services. Sina, Sohu, BlogCN, Bokee.com, ChinaBlog.net and others are already crowding the market.
