Fourteen ADSL users whose accounts have been hijacked are preparing a lawsuit againt China Netcom in the hope of asking the company to stop the disputed "shopping" function on its ADSL service.
Local media report that a user surnamed Huo said his ADSL account was lost several months ago. After failing to get a solution from China Netcom, he thought of uniting with other 13 people who had similar experiences.
Huo says that China Netcom opened the shopping function of its ADSL service without notifying users, so it should be responsible for paying users' losses and stop the shopping function immediately to protect others from the same problems.
Huo added that the group will wait until they grow to at least 20 people before they take legal action.
