Strategic Alliance Established Among Computing Firms

Amoi, Intel (INTC) and Ingram Micro (IM) have formed a strategic alliance in Shanghai to push Amoi's laptop computers which are based on Intel's mobile platform onto Ingram Micro's sales channels in China.
Under the tri-party strategic alliance, Intel will be fully responsible for the channel construction and sales of Amoi's laptop computer, and it will offer in-depth support to Amoi on its laptop computer development and market promotion.
Ingram Micro China will make full use of its existing sales channel to sell Amoi's computer products and provide the latter with Intel's mobile CPU and relevant products.
Li Xiaozhong, president of Amoi, said that they hope to become a pioneering brand for Chinese laptop computers through cooperation with Ingram Micro, which is one of the largest IT product distributors in the world. Li has told local media believed that the desire of the three companies to lower costs brought them together for this alliance.
