Security software firm Authentium announced its expansion in Asia-Pacific with the opening of its new office in Hong Kong.
"Despite Chinese government restrictions on products that do not support home-grown technology standards, which can lock out many foreign businesses, there is an enormous opportunity for the Authentium model," said Phil Braden, managing director of Asia-Pacific operations. "Because Authentium offers an open platform for best-of-breed security solutions, we have the unique ability to incorporate the nation's leading vendor technologies and satisfy Chinese government requirements. This gives Authentium a strong competitive edge over larger, proprietary software vendors who offer a one-size-fits-all approach. I look forward to forging new relationships in the region."
America-based Authentium develops core operating system encapsulation, file and application defense, data interception and data analysis technologies for inclusion in its flagship Extensible Services Platform (ESP).
