Communications Income Reaches CNY405.29 Billion

The latest statistics released by China's Ministry of Information Industry show that in the first seven months of this year, the total accumulative communications business volume in the country reached CNY848.2 billion and the income from the communications industry hit CNY405.29 billion, an increase of 11.4% compared with the same period of last year.
The period also saw an increase of 54.5 million new telephone users, which has made the total telephone user number in the country reach 798 million.
Of the total communications income, CNY171.5 billion (46.6%) was from mobile communications, up 18% compared with the same period of last year. CNY102.94 billion (28%) was from local fixed phone service, increasing by 2.4% year on year. CNY64.79 billion (17.6%) was from long distance telephone service, rising by 4.8% over the previous year, and CNY28.71 billion (7.8%) was from data communication service, increasing by 24.1% over the same period of the previous year.
The data shows that during the period, fixed telephone user increase slowed, but mobile telephone users gained rapidly.
