Zhang Shengli, director of the Radio Management Office of the Ministry of Information Industry, disclosed this week at the China Wireless Technology Conference 2006 that documents related to RFID frequency planning will be released within this year.
This is the first time that an MII official has made a public announcement on the RFID timetable. Since the end of 2004, China has been working the release of 800MHz/900MHz RFID technology and has conducted many experiments and analyses of the frequency.
Xie Fei, deputy director from the Radio Management Office of China, said that at the initial stage, China did not pay much attention to RFID, but after a visit to South Korea last year, the country realized the importance of RFID technology and now gives it the same priority as NGN.
