Chinese Ministries: Software Exports Must Break US$10 Billion In 2010

China's Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information Industry, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Custom, General Administration of Taxation, Administration of Statistics and Administration of Foreign Currency have jointly issued a document on developing domestic software and related information service exports.

The nine ministries have set a goal for the domestic software and information service export saying that the total value of China's software and related information service exports should exceed US$10 billion in 2010.

The document, entitled "Guiding Proposals On Developing Software and Related Service Export", also requires that the export of software and related services should grow at no less than 25% each year. In addition, it asks that a group of domestic software brands and software products be developed and a batch of competitive software enterprises to be established to compete with foreign products.
